As I sit here looking at the last few weeks on my 2025 calendar, there’s one word that summarizes 2025 for me: explosive. When I founded Oryx from a hospital during bedrest in 2016, it was just me and Kay, coding something for my own dental practice.
Now, nearly ten years later, Oryx has evolved into something so much bigger. Today, Oryx has grown to a team of nearly 100 people worldwide. We service thousands of dental offices—from single sites, to multi-office locations, to DSOs and beyond—across five continents and have grown 561 percent in the last three years alone.
2025 was an especially exciting year for Oryx, as we grabbed hold of our intentional, organic growth and pushed that momentum forward. Thinking about the last year, I see several themes across everything we did as a company—all, of course, in service of our mission to build the future of dentistry and help dentists do more of what they love best: spend time chairside delivering excellent care to patients.
Oryx’s 2025 Snapshot: Moving with Momentum Towards the Future of Dentistry
These moments, milestones, and momentum defined our year and set the foundation for what’s next.
1. Dental SaaS Technology Continues to Move to the Cloud—And to Oryx
The dental industry is going through the same kind of rapid digital transformation that many other industries have also experienced. For too long, dentistry has been held back by clunky, on-prem software solutions—and we hear from dentists every day who are eager to move to the cloud and experience all the benefits of faster, integrated, on-demand technology.
Although much of the dental industry is still using on-prem servers, that’s changing fast—and our growth in 2025 is proof. We doubled our customer base and are excited to keep bringing Oryx to more dental practices of all types and sizes in 2026 and beyond.

2. Oryx is Doubling Down on Everything: Product, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing and Beyond
As demand for our all-in-one platform has grown and our customer base has expanded, we’ve poured gasoline across all our business functions, from marketing/sales to customer success to product and more. A big part of our investment in Oryx this year has included not only hiring across all functions, but also an expanded leadership team.
Throughout 2025, we’ve added a number of experienced, high-level SaaS technology executives to our Leadership Team:
- Taylor DiCicco, Chief Commercial Officer
- Karen Gray, Chief Customer Officer
- Bryce Swihart, Vice President of Product
- Mary Rountree, Vice President of Finance
Each of our new LT members has added tremendous value to Oryx already, and we’re thrilled for what’s to come in 2026.

3. Oryx’s Star Continues to Shine in the News
While the greatest reward is always the happiness and success of our customers, it’s always a pleasure to be recognized for our work. This year, Oryx’s growth and success received numerous recognitions across multiple venues.
We jumped over 1,000 spots on the annual Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing privately-owned American companies to take the #736 spot overall. Excitingly, we were named for the first time ever in the top 100 software companies at #75. More personally, I was honored to be named to the Inc. Female Founders list earlier in the year; women face many barriers in business even today, and I’m proud to serve as an example of what’s possible in dentistry.
More recently, Oryx was featured in the G2 Winter Reports as a High Performer on two grids: the Small-Business Dental Practice Management Grid® and the Full-Market Dental Practice Management Grid®. We’re proud to be recognized for our great product, customer happiness, and headroom to grow—the future is bright!

4. We Strengthened Our Commitment to Dentists as Business Owners
Dentistry is often an industry of small businesses, and we’re incredibly aware of how challenging it is for business owners today. Dentists face greater challenges with costs, hiring, and education than ever before.
Dental practice owners aren’t just responsible for the medicine they practice—they’re also responsible for billing, payroll, HR, and so much more. That’s why everything we create at Oryx is designed to help dentists from both a clinical and operational perspective.
Our goal is to make it easier than ever to manage the business, so dentists can spend the most time possible chairside with patients. That’s why in 2025, we increased our commitments to helping dentists be the best they can, with educational partnerships for advanced training and sponsorship for Women in DSO.

The Watchword for 2026 Is: More
With an expanded leadership team at the helm of product, marketing, sales, customer lifecycle, and people operation; key hires in place to deepen our ties to the dental community; and a robust product pipeline, we’ve teed Oryx up for an incredibly exciting 2026.
Over the next 12 months, you can expect to see more of us. We will be:
- Reimagining the customer lifecycle experience
- Engaging with you in-person and on-the-ground at key dental conferences, trade shows, and events
- Launching exciting new AI and automation features, all based on the real, daily needs of our customers and the workflows of their dental practices
- And more.
That is the theme I see coming in 2026: more. And of everything—our remarkable product, our commitment to our customers and the field of dentistry, and our relentless motivation to deliver the future of dentistry… today.
